Basharat is a highly experienced solicitor and solicitor advocate (All Proceedings) across a number of practice areas and has been instrumental in the amendment of government policy as well as the development of case law.
Family Law
Financial Remedy and Divorce Cases: Bringing and defending proceedings related to financial remedy whether they be straightforward cases involving a family home or complex cases involving high value assets, pensions, businesses, land, properties etc owned in the UK and or in countries across the world. Dealing with worldwide/domestic freezing orders/injunctions relating to properties and assets.
Child Arrangements: Bringing and defending child arrangements applications, non-molestation and occupation orders and related proceedings. Basharat has also advised clients in relation child abduction most commonly but not exclusively dealt with cases under the “Hague Convention.”
Immigration Law
Immigration: Advising and assisting clients in relation to a broad range of visa applications, deportation cases, related appeals, removal, and detention cases including bail applications. Furthermore, challenging refusals by way of administrative review and or judicial review, human rights appeals and emergency injunctions.
Asylum: Advising and assisting clients in relation to asylum applications, appeals, and judicial review cases.
Nationality Law: Advising and assisting clients with nationality applications and challenging negative decisions administratively and by way of judicial review.
Public and Regularity Law
Disciplinary proceedings involving the General Medical Council, taxi licensing matters, food hygiene prosecutions etc.
Challenging decisions by coroners to deny the use of non-invasive autopsies for orthodox Muslims and Jews.
Education law, for example, representing students challenging schools and universities in relation to disciplinary matters and also representing institutions challenging adverse decisions by government bodies.

Emergency Work & Injunctions: Basharat has extensive experience in obtaining emergency injunctions including outside of court hours and on weekends. He has successfully obtained numerous emergency court orders such as stopping the removal of people from the UK by the Home Office and challenging emergency freezing orders. Basharat has also obtained injunctions against a coroner for not allowing Muslim and Jewish families to avoid a fully invasive autopsy on the bodies their deceased family members.

Accreditations
Basharat qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and acquired his Higher Courts Rights of Audience in All Proceedings in 2002.
Basharat is Law Society accredited at the Advanced Level which is the highest level of accreditation in the field of immigration, asylum, and nationality law.
Basharat is also an experienced legal trainer and was a Law Society accredited CPD trainer until this requirement was abolished. Basharat has delivered professional
legal training courses for other solicitors and lawyers both within this firm and to other firms of solicitors, too.
