Basharat Ali of Aman Solicitors & Advocates was the junior counsel/solicitor advocate in the case of R (S) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2007] EWHC 51 (Admin). The central issue in this case was the delay in decision making by the Home Office and what should flow as a consequence of such delay in terms of a remedy for the aggrieved. The judicial review was successful and the matter was remitted back to the Home Office to reconsider their decision.
