Basharat is a Solicitor and a Solicitor Advocate [All Proceedings]. Basharat graduated from the University of Sheffield and completed his Legal Practice Course [LPC] at the College of Law Store Street London. Prior to founding Aman Solicitors Advocates Basharat practiced, firstly, as an employed Solicitor and thereafter as a freelance Solicitor Advocate. Basharat has experience of dealing with cases involving immigration, criminal, civil, family, libel, education law, regulatory, general public law, coroner’s court and taxi licensing.

Basharat has appeared as an advocate in tribunals and courts in England and Wales including the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords. Basharat is a leading Immigration Solicitor and Advocate and has been instrumental in the amendment of Home Office policy as well as the development of case law. Basharat has represented clients in the Special Immigration Appeals Commission [SIAC] and clients who have successfully sued the Home Office for compensation due to the Home Office unlawfully detaining them. Basharat has experience of challenging coroner’s decisions to carry out invasive post mortems and has successfully stopped such post mortems from being carried out on Jewish and Muslim people who had passed away. Basharat was involved in the leading case setting out the principles for non invasive post mortems.

Basharat was a member of the Law Society Immigration Law Panel. Currently Basharat is accredited at the advanced (highest level) of accreditation in immigration law and is a recognised expert in the field of immigration, asylum and nationality law. In addition to this, Basharat has as stated above has a broad range of legal experience.

Basharat is a Law Society accredited CPD trainer and has delivered professional legal training courses for other solicitors and lawyers both within this firm and in other leading firms.

Raheel Latif

Profile:

Raheel is one of the founding members of Aman Solicitors Advocates in 2003. He is the Director with control of general management of the firm and is the nominated COLP and COFA of Aman Solicitors Advocates.

Raheel also deals with the firms accreditation with respect to LEXCEL with the law society as well as the Legal Aid Agency.

With respect to the firm Raheel is the head of the Immigration Team in the London office. Raheel has extensive experience in Immigration, Asylum and Nationality law, especially in Asylum matters including Appeals, Judicial Review applications and Entry Clearance matters. Under Raheel supervision the Immgiration Department have had some notable cases in the Asylum field relating to Asylum applicants from Kuwait and Syria.

In addition to his extensive experience in Immigration matter Raheel also has experience of Personal Injury and Civil Law.

Raheel graduated from the University of Leicester, having studied Economics and Law. Raheel completed his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law Store Street London. Raheel became a qualified Solicitor in 2002.

Adnan Mahmood

Profile:

Adnan is a Solicitor and a Solicitor Advocate [Civil Proceedings]. He graduated with a law degree in 1999 following which he completed his Legal Practice Course at the BPP Law School, London. Adnan then completed his training contract with a large law practice based in North Kensington where he specialized primarily in immigration and public law and civil litigation. He was later appointed the team leader of the In-House Advocacy team. Adnan was also the solicitor with conduct of a number of High Court cases as well as a high profile case before the Court of Appeal and House of Lords.

In 2006 Adnan then joined Aman Solicitors Advocates as an in-house advocate. Adnan represented the firm’s clients in courts around the country and was himself the advocate in two reported decisions before the Asylum & Immigration Tribunal. Adnan was also involved in a number of cases before the higher courts including the House of Lords and the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC).

Adnan then, in 2007, moved to a City based practice where he headed the Litigation and Immigration and departments. Adnan had conduct of a vast range of commercial litigation matters before the High Court Chancery Division and Commercial Court, covering property litigation, commercial contracts, insolvency and ADR. One such case involved a breach of contract claim against a government department to the value of £3m and a counterclaim of £6m.

Towards the end of 2009 Adnan rejoined the team at Aman Solicitors Advocates where he is currently head of the Litigation and Wills Departments. He has conduct of a wide range of civil and commercial litigation cases including charity proceedings. Adnan also continues to deal with immigration and public law matters of a specialised nature including matters before SIAC, the higher courts and the European Court of Human Rights.

Saad Saeed

Saad Saeed joined Aman Solicitors Advocates in 2004 and has been part of the immigration team since then. Saad is currently the head of the immigration department in the Luton branch and the head of the employment department.

Saad can speak fluent Urdu, moderate German and basic French. Saad maintains a good relationship with his clients and is proud of being able to provide them with clear and helpful advice throughout their cases.

Saad has over 10 years of experience in immigration law and over 6 years of experience in employment law. In his employment practice Saad has represented individuals and business alike and secured excellent results for both sets of clients.

Saad has represented a wide client base, ranging from asylum seekers from Europe, Asia, Africa, South and Central America, through to businessmen, a doctor’s practise and a charity. Saad has particular expertise in European law and the “Ankara Agreement”.

Saad also has 7 years of experience of representing clients at appeal hearings in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal and the Employment Tribunal. Saad was the instructing solicitor in landmark cases such as Bibi and others v ECO [2007] EWCA Civ 740, ECO v NH (India) v ECO [2007] EWCA Civ 1330, EN (Serbia) v SSHD [2009] EWCA Civ 630, and SM (India) v ECO [2009] EWCA Civ 1426. Saad is also instructed by other solicitors to represent their clients in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber in the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal. Saad has made applications to the duty judge in the High Court and obtained emergency injunctions on behalf of clients at short notice.

Aamer Latif

Aamer graduated from Nottingham Trent University, where he studied Business Economics before later completing a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Westminster, where he also completed his Legal Practice Course.

Aamer joined Aman Solicitors in 2009 as a Trainee and qualified in May 2011.

Having excelled in Personal Injury Aamer was promoted within the department to become the head of Department for the Personal Injury Team in the London office.  Soon after Aamer became a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

Before working in the personal injury department Aamer also had some experience of immigration and asylum matters when he was a Level 1 accredited caseworker under the Asylum and Immigration Accreditation Scheme.

Shafaqat graduated from Queen Mary & Westfield College in 2004 and completed his Legal Practice Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. He joined Aman Solicitors Advocates as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. As a trainee Shafaqat received a broad based training but has, since qualifying, specialised in Personal Injury, General Litigation and Regulatory Law. Shafaqat is the resident Director at the Luton office.
